EQUIPMENT

In the field, Summit uses conventional surveying equipment including manual and robotic total stations, electronic data collectors and auto levels, as well as GPS equipment to accomplish this important first step in the project sequence. All surveying equipment is maintained in good adjustment and working condition through a scheduled maintenance and precision monitoring program. This allows us to detect and correct equipment problems before they cause errors in the survey results. Supplemental equipment includes magnetic locators, traditional surveyor's tapes, and incidental equipment for various surveying tasks.

Office equipment includes desktop and laptop PCs, a network file server and a backup server, HP black line and color plotters, HP personal printers, and an Oce' 9400-II plotter/copier. Summit uses AutoDesk Land Desktop, a state-of-the-art software for surveying/drafting applications, and MS Office for spreadsheet/text document production. Adobe Acrobat, AutoDesk "dwf" and various image softwares are also used to provide deliverables in formats compatible with the needs of our clients.
